India is looking to finish with top position in the medal standing. Among 619 member strong Indian contingents here are some of the athletes are golden hopes of india. With their gold medals it will be easy for India to climb over the medal standing.

Vijender Singh - Boxing Bronze medal winner at the 2008 Beijing Olympics

Sushil Kumar - Wrestling Bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and gold at the 2010 World Wrestling Championships

Sourav Ghoshal and Joshna Chinappa - Squash doubles Both players are currently the top ranked players in India in singles

Somdev Devvarman - Tennis India's leading tennis player, a career high singles ranking of 98

Samaresh Jung - Shooting Won the David Dixon Award (best athlete award) at the 2006 Commonwealth Games for bagging seven medals, including two gold.

Tejaswini Sawant - Shotting World 50m Rifle Prone champion

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi - Tennis doubles Multiple Grand Slam winners in doubles on the ATP tour
